What’s Included in a Comprehensive Eye Exam at Alan Uyemura OD?

A comprehensive eye exam checks far more than just your glasses prescription. When you visit our Fresno clinic, we will assess:

  • Your vision and refractive error (nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism).
  • How well your eyes focus, move, and work together.
  • Your eye pressure, using the Goldmann AT900 Tonometer.o
  • Any signs of common eye issues, including those that often show no symptoms at first.
  • The overall health of your cornea, retina, and lens.

We take time to explain your results and answer your questions, in English or Spanish, depending on your preference.

Eye exams at Dr. Uyemura’s Fresno office include a full vision check, pressure test, and personalized advice for patients five and older.

When Should I Schedule an Eye Exam?

We recommend an eye exam:

  • Every year, for school-aged children, contact lens wearers, and adults 60+.
  • Every 1–2 years for healthy adults without vision changes.
  • As soon as possible, if you are experiencing headaches, eye strain, blurry vision, or trouble reading.
